Silas Zelmer

Brief Bio:

I am a Ph.D. student in astrophysics based at MPI for Extraterrestrial Physics in Garching, working on cosmology with the eROSITA All-Sky Survey. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in physics at LMU Munich, working on the comparison of different cosmological models with Type Ia supernovae data under the supervision of Prof. Jochen Weller. Also at LMU Munich, I obtained my Master's degree in theoretical physics, studying gravitational radiation from a proposed QCD-like primordial black hole formation mechanism under the supervision of Prof. Gia Dvali. In my current research, I develop machine learning techniques to study galaxy clusters and estimate cosmological parameters from the eROSITA survey data.
